How should you be “spending” the New Year?

Guest Post by Jen Fitzgerald

Most of us would say we’re celebrating the New Year with family and friends, and I would agree completely!  However, there is something else we all need to be thinking about: our business for the new year.

  • What do we want to do differently?
  • How are we going to grow it?
  • What changes can we make to improve and organize our business?

These are all things we can think about and need to do as part of our business planning for the year.

I think goals are a great thing to set and I am a fan of setting quarterly goals. Sometimes setting a goal for a whole year is hard to wrap our arms around, so setting smaller goals and achieving them can be the way to go. Then, once you achieve the smaller goal, be sure to reward yourself with something you love!

Take some time out this new year to reflect on your past year and then think about the things you would do different and how you may invest in yourself and your business. Are there any ways to organize your time better? Are there any new programs you want to do or hire a coach to help you get a jump start?

Many direct sellers are scared to spend the money to invest in themselves. However when you do, it comes back to you and your business tenfold. This is a great quote I love to share:

“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing
something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have
ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about
them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today.
The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”

By all means, have a great time with family and friends. Then start planning your new year and how you are going to make it the best year yet!
